ExpensU respects your privacy. The app is designed to work primarily on your device.
1. What We Collect
We do not collect, store, or process personal data on our own servers.
- Your financial data (such as bank statements or transactions) stays on your device by default.
- No account creation, tracking, or analytics are required.
2. How We Use Data
- All data you enter or import into ExpensU is used only within the app to provide expense tracking and reporting.
- If you choose to use features powered by OpenAI (e.g., automatic parsing of bank statements), your financial data will be processed by OpenAI. In that case, it is subject to OpenAI’s Privacy Policy.
3. Data Storage
- Your information remains stored locally on your device unless you explicitly enable OpenAI-powered features.
- App distribution and updates are handled via Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Expo’s infrastructure. These platforms may collect device and diagnostic data according to their own privacy policies.
- You control your data at all times.
4. Sharing
- We do not share your data with advertisers or third parties.
- If you use OpenAI-powered features, your data will be shared with OpenAI for processing.
- Crash logs or error reports may be sent to Expo/React Native services or app store platforms, subject to their privacy policies.
5. Your Choices
- You may delete or export your data at any time directly from your device.
- You can choose not to use OpenAI-powered features if you do not want your data processed externally.
- You can disable crash reporting in your device settings (iOS / Android).
6. Children’s Privacy
ExpensU is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update it here with a new “Last updated” date.
