When Tech Becomes a Commodity
LLMs are ushering in a new era of productivity by enabling the development of sophisticated applications using natural language. Prompts can generate entire applications, stitching together existing frameworks and templates for web applications. It has never been easier to create and deploy a website or web app. The question is: what will happen once tech becomes a commodity? What about Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Software as a Service (SaaS) providers that offer IT solutions that will either become obsolete or face intense competition that drives prices very low? This will massively transform the economy and usher in a new age of digitalization. It will force companies to provide powerful APIs, leading to increasing abstraction and automation.
In such a world, I believe there's an opportunity to create applications that empower humans to develop increasingly sophisticated art and entertainment projects.
Building is the only way to truly learn.
